Experience in pre-hospital and retrieval medicine including six months in a Retrieval Registrar role at MedSTAR and Drivers Licence Required. The Retrieval Fellow will work with an experienced Retrieval Paramedic or Nurse colleague to deliver high quality, patient focussed care to critically injured adults and children. Responding by helicopter, rapid response road vehicle or turbo prop fixed wing aircraft. With support, the Retrieval Fellow will also participate in retrieval and transport clinical coordination, take a leading role in service Clinical Governance and quality assurance activities, educate and mentor less experienced medical staff within the service and collaboratively lead service pre-hospital and retrieval research activities. Key Responsibilities: Perform clinical duties for the retrieval service, including providing high-level clinical advice, coordinating logistics, and ensuring appropriate patient prioritization, transport, and destination. Collaborate with various stakeholders, such as SAAS, RFDS, referring facilities, and transport teams, to ensure effective patient movement and alignment of resources. Participate in the Medical Retrieval and Clinical Coordination roster, providing clinical advice and coordination during operations. Function as a medical team member, stabilizing and safely transporting critically injured or ill patients in pre-hospital and retrieval environments. Participate in equipment checking procedures, troubleshooting, and restoration to ensure readiness of MedSTAR clinical equipment. Contribute to MedSTAR's audit and quality assurance processes, including case reviews, policy development, research projects, and incident reporting.
